Food for thought…and now productivity!

This just in! If employers want productive employees, they’d better start stocking up on snacks. According to a recent study 57 % of office workers have to buy their own snacks and beverages at work. Consequently, one in two respondents reported leaving the office on coffee or snack runs at least once a day, with some making as many as five trips per day.

According to this study, these coffee and snack runs are taking account for a total of 2.4 billion hours in lost productivity in the U.S. each year. Businesses need to consider ways to keep their employees motivated and productive and providing office snacks can help. Snacks can be and are affordable—and might just be the answer to the lost-productivity plague.

By snacking consistently throughout the day, you are keeping your employees blood sugar stable, which in turn prevents the employee  from getting irritable and forgetful, two common signs of low blood sugar.  Also, you will aid in improving the employees’ metabolism by having snacks readily available throughout the day, this will help to burn calories more efficiently causing a small weight loss, resulting in better self-esteem.

So… keep calm and snack on!
